Elita recently celebrated her one-year anniversary at KNBC in Los Angeles. She has been a weather anchor at the station since October 2007.
Elita Loresca Biography

As a biography, Elita Loresca was born on June 28, 1977 in the Philippines, so her age is 31. She graduated from Cal State Fullerton where she completed the Broadcast Journalism Program and later earned her Certificate of Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University.

Now a weatherperson, Elita originally worked on the print side of media. She was an obituary-writer for The Orange County Register. Before switching to weather, she was a news associate, where she managed teleprompter operation and script arrangement.

Elita has worked as a weather anchor in both Miami and Los Angeles, but she says Miami was more exciting because of hurricane season. Apparently the L.A. weather lacks variety for her taste. In 2006, she was voted FHM’s sexiest weatherperson, for which she was featured in the October 2006 issue. During the interview, she gave some insight on what it takes to be a weather anchor. Apparently it includes buying “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Weather”. During her tenure in Miami, she was the subject of a fashion blog dedicated solely to her daily wardrobe.

Elita is big into volunteering, involved in both Habitat for Humanity and The National Alliance to Nurture the Aged and the Youth.
