Unconventional Prime: Palin push continues

St. Paul: Republicans continue to argue for Gov. Sarah Palin's importance on the John McCain ticket.

At a noon luncheon for Missouri delegates, former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani led a parade of speakers extolling Palin's virtues.

“If you think you’re going to mess with Gov. Palin, she’s got something for you,” former Maryland Senate candidate Michael Steele told the clapping audience. “I know Gov. Palin. Gov. Palin is a friend of mine. You’re not ready for Gov. Palin."

Former U.N. ambassador John Bolton made the same argument. “I’m sure if Sen. Obama wants to debate Gov. Palin, we could arrange that,” Bolton told delegates. He also later suggested that, if elected, the Alaska governor should challenge Russian prime minister Vladimir Putin to a shooting contest.
